Charitable Remainder Unitrust
Who should serve as trustee?
A unitrust is a separate legal entity administered by a trustee. Notre Dame can serve as trustee of your unitrust, or you, or a financial advisor or institution can serve. Notre Dame currently administers a significant portfolio of charitable trusts and does not charge any administration fees. In addition, the only trusts invested in the Notre Dame endowment are those where Notre Dame is the trustee and sole beneficiary of the remainder gift.
A minimum gift of $100,000 is required to establish a unitrust. Whether you choose to have Notre Dame or an outside trustee, we can share sample trust forms and discuss the details of establishing the unitrust with you and your advisers.
